Mechanical Engineering is an extensive field that applies the philosophies of engineering to the design and construction of machines and their parts. Mechanical engineers work with numerous industries conceptualizing, designing and fabricating machines as well as their parts. Though it is one of oldest engineering disciplines, it is also one that continuously got transformed and grow with progression in technology making it lively and exciting profession even to date.
Mechanical Engineering Department is one of the promising departments of the Polytechnic. It is also one of the fastest growing department in terms of student strength and performance. It is a programme designed to reflect a functional philosophy of education. While seeking to achieve academic excellence and promote the furtherance of knowledge, the mechanical engineering programme also seek to aid the acquisition of appropriate skills, abilities and competence, both mental and physical as equipment for the individual to live in and contribute to the development of his/her society.
