Basic Science is a department under School of General and Remedial Studies it was established on 8th May, 2013, it was first headed by a coordinator Mr. Muhiddin Ahmad Sheriff he serve as a coordinator till his study leave, the department was handover to Mr. Musa Ibrahim Katuzu on 8th November, 2018 as a coordinator. On 3rd March 2019 he is appointed as the Head of the Department, till the recent election conducted on 24th January, 2020, Mr. Musa Ibrahim Katuzu became the elected Head of Department. The department currently consist of six (6) staff in all, three (3) academic staff and three non-academic staff, among the three non-academic staff we have one Confidential Secretary, one Executive Assistant, and one clerical Assistant.
All the remedial science programme which consist of:
Science Laboratory Technology (SLT)
Computer Science (CS),
Building Technology (BT),
Survey and Geo-informatics (SURV),
Agriculture Science Technology (AGRIC),
Mechanical Engineering (ME),
Electrical Electronics (EE),
Computer Engineering (CET),
Civil Engineering (CE),
are conducted and control under the department of Basic Science.
